Fetch is a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program for transferring files, allowing a networked Macintosh to transfer files with any connected machine that supports FTP.

Fetch has a clean and simple interface that is user friendly. Connections to FTP servers can be made simply by entering the server address and log-on credentials, through the use of user defined shortcuts, or from an extensive list of provided bookmarks. Once connected, Fetch presents you with a Mac-like interface window. Fetch also features drag and drop file transfers that Mac users have become accustomed to.

The interface window is divided into two areas. The left side displays the contents of the file server you are connected to, and the right side of the window provides status on Fetchís actions. During file transfers it displays the name, format, and approximate size of the file being transferred, the amount of data that has been transferred so far, the average speed of the transfer so far, and an estimate of how long it will take for the transfer to complete.

Fetch is a breeze to use. Navigating through the serverís content is accomplished by double-clicking on the desired folder(s). Once you have located the data you want to retrieve or the directory where you want to upload data to, just drag the file to your hard drive or from your hard drive to the remote directory. This program has the capability of transferring a single HTML page or an entire web site.

While working with remote directories or files, Fetch provides you the options of renaming, deleting, or searching files or folders. Other features include post processing, which allows you to assign applications to use for opening transferred files, suffix mapping for determination of file types (text or binary), Apple script support, FTP command lines, and many others.

For the normal users Fetch is an outstanding program, easy to learn the basics but has many features to master.
