The Great Mac Express Train Race

The Pomorum Express and the Macadamia Light Rail are racing from San Francisco, California, to Washington DC. The Avalon Island survivors have been flown in from Avalon Island to board their trains in San Francisco. The first tribe to meet with president and provide him with a new G4 Mac system wins the race and the Immunity Mouse.

In the beginning, the cars were designated as follows:

Car 1: Mac Hardware
Car 2: Mac Software
Car 3: Cotton
Car 4: Redwood
Car 5: Gold
Car 6: Empty

The trains were originally loaded with resources which were won by various challenges during the previous Award Challenge. Amazingly, the amount of resources were very close between the two trains across the board despite the high random factor of resource values, the lopsided size of both teams (3 versus 5), and the diverse amount of wins, losses and steals.

As the trains travelled through the states, they partook in various resource trades with hosting cities. Each state had a specific surplus resource which provided ideal trade rates for certain resources. The trade values for each state were defined on the
State Surplus Trade Chart. The train engineers had to work hard and be smart, with the goal of obtaining high resources and enough coal to complete the trip along with a well-balanced train. View the Train Resource page to view the resources remaining on both trains once they arrived in Maryland.

Both trains fought a close race, taking completely different routes, yet reaching Washington DC at nearly the same time! View the
race map to see the routes taken, and view the Race Journal for details of how the race evolved. Both trains maintained enough coal to complete the trip, and enough resources to purchase fully loaded Mac G4 systems for the President. Only one train, however, could win... the first one to reach the President.
