Washington D.C., 8 Nov, 2000: The
Mac
Guild concludes it's Mac Express Train Race
Not even Election 2000 was as close as the Mac Express Train Race! Two trains, two
tribes, racing for immunity! The Pomorum Express and the Macadamia Light Rail bring
it down to the wire. Details of how the race unfolds can be read on the official
Mac Express Race Journal page.
Both trains maintained enough resources to purchase full G4 systems for the President,
but only one tribe got to him first.
While the Macadamia Tribe was bartering for bricks and
ordering their Mac system over the web, the Pomorum Tribe had arrived at the White House
to greet President Clinton with a brand new G4 Cube system.
"That's a mighty fine toaster you brought me, I thank you very much."
Jay cries, "No Mr. President! This is a G4 Cube, the most powerful punch packed
in a box this size! It's an Apple Computer for you and your family, and we brought
you a beautiful Cinema Display to go with it, along with some great games."
"Oh," exclaimed the President, "that's fantastic. Moni... er, Hillary
and I will stay up all night playing the games. Thank you very much. On behalf
of all my fellow Americans, I want to thank you, and congratulate you on a well-fought
race. If only Al would have been as excited to talk to me as you, I'm certain that
I could have helped sway more votes for him. Let me just say this. The Macintosh
is a great computer, made by a great American company. It makes me proud to accept
this gift. Thank you. Thank you very much."
With that, the Pomorum tribe happily ride their train back to California where a
boat awaits both them and the Macadamia Tribe to take them back to Avalon Island.
Although the Macadamia tribe did not get to the president first, they did present
him with a fine G4 Dual-processor system as well as an Indigo iBook, perfect for
Hillary as she takes on the job of Senator for New York.
Both teams head back to the island with a good number of Survivor Island points, but only one team heads back
with the Immunity Mouse. Congratulations to the Pomorum Tribe!
